Verifone is a leading participant in manufacturing bank terminals, the repair activity of which has a great business potential for the service sector. Our company started the collaboration with Verifone in the Coventry facility in 2009 with high hopes followed by the business decision in 2012 to continue with the activity in Szombathely, which has been significant for our facility in Hungary ever since.
Our veteran employees must remember when the construction of the unit started on the shop floor, which at that time was mocked as "prison" or "Fort Knox" because of the strict security regulations, and will recall when the new repair activity started in the building. As is usually the case with new businesses, kicking off the Verifone business was not smooth, however in spite of the difficulties of the initial period, the product portfolio, the volume and the headcount grew continuously until 2016, when the full European market was awarded to our company.
Throughout the years, the business has grown from 8000 pieces per month to 25000, and in the past 5 years, it has become one of the most stable and significant businesses in the Szombathely facility both from employment and from financial result perspective.
As a result of the team's creativity and hard work, the repair line has been transformed in the jubilee year, which enables us to fight the latest challenges in the market, and also to kick off another 10 years in the business.
